The National Chengchi University (NCCU) invites applications and recommendations for the position of Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Literature. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College and reports to the President. The starting date of the appointment is August 1, 2025. The initial appointment is 2 years with a renewable second term.

The College of Foreign Languages and Literature at NCCU was founded in 1989. It comprises the Department of English, Department of Arabic Language and Culture, Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, Department of Japanese, Department of Korean, Department of Turkish Language and Culture, Department of European Languages and Cultures, the Graduate Institute of Linguistics, Master’s Program in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, BA Program in Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures, and Foreign Language Center. The College also offers a Master of Arts Program in English Teaching. The Center of Translation and Cross-cultural Studies was established in the 2015 to promote the teaching, research and practice of translation and cross-cultural literature.

The College of Foreign Languages and Literature aims at nurturing innovative and forward-looking individuals with excellent foreign language skills and academic knowledge about literature, culture, linguistics, and language teaching. Students are encouraged to acquire a second foreign language, a minor, and/or a double major to cultivate professionals. The College offers an exceeding number of language programs among all the universities nationwide – programs in 14 languages and courses of more than 20 languages in the world.

Candidates for the position of Dean should have an excellent capability in academic leadership, an appreciation of the breadth of research and educational developments, a long-term vision for the development of the College, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Terms Duration
Two years starting from August 1, 2025 with a second term renewable.
