Divided from the College of Liberal Art and founded in August 1, 1989, the College of Foreign Languages and Literature is the first professional individual college of this discipline in all the national universities in Taiwan. It consists of the Department of English (including Master’s and Ph.D. program), Department of Arabic Language and Cu1ture, Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures (including Master’s program), Japanese Department (including Master’s program), Department of Korean (including Master’s program), Department of Turkish Language and Culture, Department of European Languages and Cultures, the Graduate Institute of Linguistics, Master’s Program in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, BA Program in Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures and Foreign Language Center. The College also offers a Master of Arts program in English Teaching. The Center of Translation and Cross-cultural Studies is established in the 2015 academic year to promote the teaching, research and practice of translation and cross-cu1tural literature.
